Being first pays off

The Wolfpack was the first school to extend a scholarship offer to Gainesville, Ga., defensive lineman Thomas Niles in February during a visit to Raleigh for Junior Day activities.
Even though schools like Georgia, Alabama, UCF, and Tennessee were interested (had offer form Tennessee), the 6-foot-2, 267-pound Niles chose NCSU.
"They (N.C. State) were the first ones to actually bring me into the recruiting process.... They were true to me the whole time, and they've got a good program.''

Mooresville's own Hayley Hammond has qualified for the 2010 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship.
Earlier this season she felt some intense pain in her rebuilt left knee. Hammond was forced to undergo surgery to remove the screws in her knee that were in place since she tore her ACL years ago.

Player to Watch in 2010: Owen Spencer

The Bleacher Report has come out with it's 5 players to watch this upcoming football season in the ACC. Making that list was NC State WR Owen Spencer. Of Spencer, TBR had this to say:

ACC To Have Replay In HD

When critical calls can impact a game, having the right tool can make all the difference, and DVSport's Instant Replay system is second to none.
"DVSport’s innovative HD Replay solution enhances the officials' review process for each and every play. The difference in video clarity is exactly what you would expect to see when you upgrade to HD."
